I'm going to keep this as simple as I can. When using currency, it'll be related only to certain things - buying or acquiring a nice home, vehicle, equipment, magical items, potions, etc. I'm not going through the trouble of tracking rent, bills, food and drink, GM's have enough to keep up with. Here is how currency works in Celaria:
One copper = basically, 1 cents.
One silver = 100 copper.
One Gold = 100 silver
One platinum = 100 gold
One electrium = 100 platinum.
Currency is usually added from events. It is rewarded at GM discretion, the harder something is, the more money you'll receive. If you're the type of character that's just looking for a day job, get with me and we'll work out a weekly currency.
Note: As a new character, you WILL start at 0 Currency, your gold from another land or world will mean nothing here. If you're a character that's coming from off world with a super enchanted awesome weapon of the gods? It will be a normal weapon upon entering, same goes for all your equipment. (Enchantment system, however, will let you rebuild said weapon into something cool again)
General Purchases:
People can start out with small homes and apartments, provided their character started off as being there for a short time and working - I'm not picky about this, or we can work it into the RP. But for more 'flashier' stuff, you will need to spend currency.
